At Ginkgo, we are passionate not only for horticulture and every aspect of gardening - but are also passionate for preservation of history and architecture. In 2003, Mark Holler purchased the property two doors down from Ginkgo Gardens on 11th Street SE.

Mark and his staff worked in fine detail to preserve and restore the historic Capitol Hill home. The Pre-Civil War frame home, in serious need of restoration was brought back to life using preservation practices and reclaimed materials. The property is now used as a rental property, as well as staging area for Ginkgo Gardens landscape supplies.

In 2010, Ginkgo Gardens was awarded with the District of Columbia Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
